🏅 ‘Future Hall of Famers’ Award 🏅

The Guelph Sports Hall of Fame, is pleased to introduce the ‘Future Hall of Famers’ Award, a special recognition program designed to celebrate outstanding young athletes across a variety of sports in our community.

We invite minor youth sports organizations to participate by nominating a deserving youth athlete to be recognized at the 2025 Guelph Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Sports Celebrity Dinner who exemplifies dedication, sportsmanship, and excellence in their sport.

This is a unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the next generation of athletes while fostering a strong connection between youth sports and the legacy of Guelph’s sporting community. We hope you will take part in this exciting program and help us recognize the future stars of Guelph sports.

Annually, a maximum of three young athletes will be formally recognized at the Guelph Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where they will be celebrated alongside some of Guelph’s greatest sports figures.

As part of this initiative, participating organizations, or their members will be requested to purchase a minimum of five (5) general admission tickets to the induction ceremony and will receive an additional five (5) complimentary tickets, ensuring that family members and supporters can attend this prestigious event. Additional tickets can be purchased if required.

With your support, we look forward to celebrating our young athletes and continuing to build a strong sporting legacy in Guelph.

Nomination Deadline is Tuesday, April 1st, 2025

Nomination Criteria for Future Hall of Famers Award

 To ensure we recognize young athletes who truly exemplify excellence, dedication, and sportsmanship, nominees should meet the following criteria:

  • Age Group: Open to youth athletes aged [10-18] years.
  • Nominations: Nominations must be made by a registered coach or member of the local youth sport organization. Nominations must be submitted online by April 1st, 2025.
  • Active Participation: Must be an active member of a Guelph-based minor sports organization.
  • Demonstrated Excellence: Showcases exceptional skill, commitment, and performance in their respective sport.
  • Sportsmanship & Leadership: Embodies strong character, teamwork, and respect for teammates, coaches, and opponents.
  • Community Impact: Contributes positively to their sport or community through mentorship, volunteerism, or leadership roles.
